Zingiber Zerumbet Extract Latin Name: Zingiber zerumbet (L.) Smith Synonyms: Shampoo Ginger; Pinecone Ginger. Botany: Zingiber Zerumbet Extract is an extract from the 2-3 years old rhizome of Zingiber Zerumbet by simple steam distillation and recrystallization. It is most widely known as the "shampoo ginger" for the creamy liquid substance in the cones, called in China as Wild Ginger. Zingiber zerumbet is native to Southeast Asia but has been widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical areas around the world, and has naturalized in some areas. Useful part: Rhizome. Active Ingredient: Zerumbone 98%. Zerumbone Molecular Formula: C15H22O Molecular Weight: 218.340 CAS#: 471-05-6. Test Method: HPLC Appearance: Colorless Crystal. Function: 1. Suppresses free radical generation; 2. Anti-inflammatory; 3. Suppresses cancer cell proliferation accompanied by apoptosis; 4. Counters HIV activity; 5.
